Edúcate Uruguay is a non-profit organization that strengthens the public school system, specifically in rural areas, through a model that generates an affective and effective bond of children to learning.

Founded in 2009, it has demonstrated to be a proven solution to reduce the gap in the access to educational opportunities between rural and urban children.

Our model

In Edúcate we believe that the future is in the education.

The child and the teacher are at the very center of the approach.

We generate an ecosystem of change whose objective is that children and teachers live learning as a path of personal development.

We design and implement strategies in order to generate an effective and affective bond between children and learning.

Educator Professional Development

We train teachers with the intention that through our projects mentioned before, they are able to change their surroundings and the methodologies of interaction with the students.
In addition, teachers participate in initiatives that analyze practices, question evidence, and investigate how to generate significant improvements in student learning.

Providing first level technology and educational materials.

Throughout these years we generated educational programs with international quality.
Providing innovative projects, technologies, moving libraries, teacher training, and a network of continuous improvement. With the final goal of giving the children the necessary tools to outdo themselves.

Our Outreach in Numbers

We created an educational community of continuous specialization which actively covers over 100 rural schools in 10 different provinces, implementing methodologies which translate into opportunities for over 1500 kids.

Seeing is Learning 1 and 2 eases the integration of new technologies to the school.

Exploration zone

The Book Pack Library is an essentially community project born when noticing the lack of books in rural schools.

The Reading is a Journey Project promotes the idea that children want to read and want to on a daily basis.

The Compass: the adventure of writing

The Compass’ aim is to make girls and boys feel motivated to write, developing their creativity and ability to express themselves through writing.

De.Practice

Series of talks open to the educational community with the aim of bringing together specialists from different countries that offer a new perspective on how to generate significant improvements in learning from concrete actions.

Research

We do research to build bridges between 'must be' and 'know how'.

Graduates Program

A professional development network between teachers who have been with us for more than 4 years. ‘Graduados’ strengths those who teach in order to get better results from the ones who learn.

The Meeting of Knowledge

The Meeting of Knowledge is a space where teachers have the possibility to share the best practices they have implemented and enrich themselves with other practices.
