Edúcate Uruguay is a non-profit organization that strengthens the public school system, specifically in rural areas, through a model that generates an affective and effective bond of children to learning.

Founded in 2009, it has demonstrated to be a proven solution to reduce the gap in the access to educational opportunities between rural and urban children.

Cecilia de la Paz

Cecilia was born to be on the move. Initially a teacher, she specialized in communications and finally found her mission as an entrepreneur. Her trajectory is a web of circumstances and characters that elapsed in different scenarios, yet tell a single story; the story of a teacher who wanted children to enjoy learning. Her path took a turn when, during a video shoot for UNICEF she met Nicolás, a talented rural boy who in other circumstances, would have had a brilliant future. This experience led her to establish Fundación Edúcate Uruguay so that others like him would not be at a disadvantage by living in the countryside but rather find the courage to build up their full potential.
