Reading is a Journey
Reading is a journey, seeking that children want to read and that they do so on a daily basis. This project designed between Uruguayan and New Zealand specialist educators creates a positive bond between the child and the book, through rewarding reading experiences. Once interest is installed, we implement methodological strategies that transform children into autonomous readers. We encourage young people to sustain the habit of reading both at school and at home, making the book a genuine companion on their journey of learning.
Each school participating in the project receives the following resources: a library of books leveled according to the reading expertise, strategies and resources to encourage reading, a reading journal for each student, learning progressions.
