E.dúcate

Edúcate Uruguay is a non-profit organization that strengthens the public school system, specifically in rural areas, through a model that generates an affective and effective bond of children to learning.

Founded in 2009, it has demonstrated to be a proven solution to reduce the gap in the access to educational opportunities between rural and urban children.

Monica was born in a small town in Argentina but has lived all over the Americas. This Social Worker, with a Master’s degree in Sociology and a PHD in Social Sciences, has walked through the favelas of Brazil, the Ecuadorian jungles, the American asphalt, the Surinamese Amazon and the most isolated areas of Uruguay. Connecting with their people and contributing with her knowledge to generate policies that change the reality of those who need it most. Her warmth, professionalism and connection with her roots as a simple and sincere person found in Edúcate a mission that makes her feel at home.
